Barristers' Banquet 2009

You may be wondering, "What is Barristers'?" Barrister is a fancy word for lawyer. The Barristers' Banquet is a formal Banquet that the law school puts on every year.
The following two are pictures that I took when I got home before I took my hairdown.

Margo and Candace helped me get ready for the event by doing my hair and makeup!
Thanks Guys!!

I went with my friend Ivette and some others. They are from left:
Matthew, Amanda, Yours Truly, Ivette, and her husband John.

The girls!

The event was held in an open warehouse below Amazement Square. Amazement Square is an interactive children's museum and it's awesome!! I want to go sometime when I'm not all dressed up and my feet aren't killing me! ;0)

Inside the Museum: Ivette, Me, Mary, and Britney.

At our table.

John, Ivette, Me, Spencer, Megan, Two 3L girls I don't know, Professor Hesch (my Civil Procedures Teacher), and Mrs. Hesch.

Me, Mrs. Tuomala (she works in the admissions office), and Ivette.

Mark (He was my pretend client for client interviews last semester), Me, and John.

John (different John) and I. John is from Oregon too!

After it was over we went to Ivette's house and took some more pictures inside.

I hope you've enjoyed this trip into the life of a lawyer! (OK, future lawyer!!!) ;0)

Spring Break 2009 - North Carolina

For Spring Break this year I went home with my friend Margo to North Carolina. Here is a pictoral view of my adventures!!!
We went to the Outer Banks and stayed at her aunt's house in Nags Head. This picture is of me and the Alligator River on the way to the beach!! I was so excited to finally see the Atlantic Ocean!!! I had been wanting to since I went to DC last spring!

Here is my first view of the Atlantic Ocean!!!!!!!

I finally stepped foot in the Atlantic!

Here's proof that I actually stepped foot in it!

This is where Brad Paisley taped his video for the song "Waiting on a Woman" with Andy Griffith!

Nags Head is right next to Kill Devil Hills and Kitty Hawk. This is the Wright Brothers Memorial.

They were filming Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Jamesville (which is where Margo lives) while we were there!!!

For the fans of the show, the guy in the window in the white hard hat and black shirt is Michael!

I caught Paige in her pink hard hat!

They still had to do a lot of work on the house the day of the revealing!!! Here is them putting on the finishing touches.

The limo got stuck in the mud!!!! It was so funny! Margo said, "Only in Jamesville!"

Here is the finished house. The family didn't get to come home until it was pretty dark. I don't think we got in any of the camera shots but if you listen real closely our voices will be in the crowd shouting, "Move that Bus!!!!"

Here's a shot of Margo's house. I love the porch and the bay window!!!!

Here's me and Margo's parents!

Room Pics

Mom has been wanting me to put some pictures up of my room since I decorated so here they are!

Can you tell I love Oregon?
I can't believe I'll be there in less than a day!!!

I'm Coming Home!!!!!!!

I can't believe that I'm finally coming home tomorrow!!!! Yay!!!! I just hope the break doesn't go by way too fast because I am completely busy the whole time!!!
Right now, I'm packing and cleaning up and found a note that I wrote reminding me to tell you what happened at my friend Ivette's Christmas party. Her cousin Ashley was here from New York staying with her to help watch her kids so she could study for finals. A bunch of us got together at her house and we found out that her cousin Ashley is cousins with Adam Rodriquez who plays Erik Delco on CSI: Miami. One of the girls there was a huge fan so Ashley got him to call. We all got to talk to him as a group on speaker phone and then Amanda, the girl who liked him, got to talk to him personally!!!! It was really fun!
Anyway, I should get back to packing now!!! The sooner I get to bed, the sooner morning will be here, the sooner I will be getting on the plane, the sooner I will be back in the promised land!!!!

New York City!!!!

This Thanksgiving I was thankful for the wonderful trip that God allowed me to go on!!! I got to go with a friend to New York City!!!!
I was really bummed because I didn't get to go to Leavenworth, WA with my family but God totally made up for it!!!
My law school friend Ivette, grew up in the Bronx, lived in Pennslyvania for a few years and then moved to Virginia to go to Law School. Her daughter had an orthodontist appointment in PA so we went up for the weekend. Then, her mother-in-law who lives in PA needed a ride to her daughter's house in Queens. We took her and thus I got to go to NYC!!!!
This is a picture of geese flying over the Delaware River. Ma and Pops know why this picture is special! ;0)

This is Ivette's daughter Kristen, and I at the Coopersburg Diner in PA.

This is Ivette with her mother-in-law and children.

This is me with the NYC skyline in the background!

This was my first view of the city! First we drove through Manhatten, then dropped her mother-in-law off in Queens, then drove to the Bronx to pick up her sister, then went on the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty, then drove down 42nd St to Times Square.

Another early view of the city.

This picture is for Darin! It's the major Post Office at Penn Station.

Madison Square Garden

NYPD

This is one of my favorite pictures! I wanted to get a picture that showed I was on 34th St and I didn't even realize that we were on 34th St and Park Ave!!!!!

This is the George Washington Bridge. I believe this was on our way into the Bronx. I got to go to four of the five boroughs of New York. I went to Manhatten, Queens, the Bronx, and Staten Island. I didn't make it to Brooklyn but I did see the Brooklyn Bridge!

These are some pictures of the Christmas House in the Bronx. It wasn't going yet but it was still pretty. I guess when it's operating the figures dance around and there's lights and music. It sounds awesome!

This is the enterance to the Staten Island Ferry.

Kristen and I on the Staten Island Ferry.

Immanuel and I on the Staten Island Ferry. We got to see the Statue of Liberty but I couldn't get any pictures of it since it was at night. :0(

Us waiting to get back on the Ferry on the Staten Island side.

NYC Buildings

The New Amsterdam Theatre

Times Square!!!!!!!

It's kinda hard to see but this is the Bull on Wall Street!

That's all for now! I can use all the prayer I can get because I have finals for the next two weeks!! It's really scary because almost my entire grade depends on one test in each class! Pray that I can figure out how to study efficiently and recall all the information that I learned!
For those of you at home, I'll be seeing you in two short weeks!!!!! Yay!!!!! I love you and can't wait to be home with you!!!!!!!!
