Ma and Pa Jones Go To DC!!!

They never thought they'd see the day but Ma and Pa Jones came to DC!!! As I wrote earlier, they came down with me a week early and had a little family vacation. Here is day one of our journey:

On the first day we went on a tour of DC. There were only four people on the tour so we got to go in a van instead of a bus. Our first stop: The Capitol Building!

As we were driving I took a picture of the Old Post Office building for Darin.

Next stop: The White House! (P.S. That's not a cigarette in Dad's mouth, it's a snowflake! Put your magnifying glasses away!)

Next stop: Jefferson Memorial! When we first left the tour guide didn't think it would snow but by the time we got to the Jefferson Memorial there was already quite a bit sticking to the ground.

Before we left home Dad said, "I bet there won't be any geese there." Sure enough, we saw a whole bunch of geese! I guess God gave him a little piece of home!

Next stop: Lincoln Memorial! While we were here we saw the biggest snowflakes we had ever seen! Some looked like they were four inches long!

Last Stop: Iwo Jima Memorial!

We stayed at the Best Western Capitol Skyline. This is the view of the Capitol building from outside our hotel.

D.C. Here I Come!

For those of you who haven't heard I will be spending a semester in Washington D.C.!
I landed an internship with Liberty Center for Law and Policy! I have my own office in a building that is one and a half blocks from the White House!
I leave on January 16 and move in January 21. In the middle I will be roaming D.C. with my Ma and Pops!
